Muhasba

Muhasba is a daily Islamic self-reflection app built on the practice of muhasaba, self-accounting. You track your good and bad deeds, review your day each night, get prayer times, keep count of Qaza make-ups, read the Qur’an and du’as, look up verified rulings, take a daily quiz and earn points. It is bilingual throughout in English and Urdu.

Yes. Muhasba is free to use, there is no subscription, no in-app purchase and no card required. There are no ads and no third-party tracking. The optional shop sells physical items for cash on delivery in Pakistan, and points can be redeemed there; nothing in the app itself is paid.

English and Urdu (shown in Jameel Noori Nastaliq) are available today, and every label, the Qur’an translation, the Masail library and the quiz honour your choice. Persian is built and will be enabled later. Administrators can also translate the interface at runtime, so the list can grow without an app update.

Yes. The Qur’an, du’as, your deeds and reflection all work without a connection. Anything you mark while offline is queued and settles on the server when you reconnect, including the points it earns. Features that need the server, such as the shop, the leaderboard and asking a Masail question, wait until you are back online.

Grant location permission (or enter your city) and Muhasba computes prayer times using the method of your sect. You can set how many Qaza prayers and fasts you owe; they appear as make-ups in your daily reflection and the counts go down as you complete them.

You set your sect in Settings, and the dashboard shows the deeds, prayer calculation method and rulings relevant to it. Deeds are also context-aware: they appear based on the weekday, the prayer window and the Hijri calendar, so seasonal and weekly acts of worship show up exactly when they apply.

Points are settled on the server, never by the app. Marking a deed, answering the daily quiz, completing a Durood count and reading the daily Qur’an portion each earn a set amount, with per-deed and daily caps. Undoing a mark reverses its points, so a mark-clear-mark loop cannot farm.

Your personal deed logs are protected by Postgres Row Level Security, so other users can never see them; this is enforced in the database, not just the app. Administrators manage shared content and see aggregate analytics, not your individual reflections. Read the full privacy policy on this site.

Muhasba is distributed as a direct Android APK from this page (allow "Install from unknown sources"); the app prompts you in-app when a newer build is available, and a Google Play listing is being published. The same app also runs in the browser at muhasba.babultech.com. An iOS build is in preparation on the same codebase.
